My name is Ms. Kara Shrum and I am a Kindergarten teacher here at Queen of All Saints School. Kindergarten is a year of new and exciting school experiences ranging from learning new concepts and academic skills to making new friends!
I feel that each child can succeed in learning and it is my goal to not only teach them the skills required, but help them develop a love of learning along the way. I am dedicated to guiding my students to achieve success, to help them grow academically, spiritually, and socially, and to make the most of teachable moments. I am very happy to be a part of Queen of All Saints and truly feel God has called me to be a part of Catholic education.
This will be my fourth year teaching at Queen of All Saints. I attended Southeast Missouri State University earning a B.S. degree in Elementary Education and am additionally certified in Early Childhood and Language Arts. I have past experience teaching at St. Patrick's School in Wentzville, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, Oakville Elementary, and as a paraprofessional in a special needs self-contained room with Special School District. I was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom for several years as well!
I live here in Oakville and am a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. I have four sons, Michael age 21, Eric, 18, Sean, 15, and Sam, 13. I spend most of my free time with my family and running my boys to their activities. I also enjoy golfing, reading, and bike riding!
