Dear Queen of All Saints Families,
Hello! Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year. I am excited to be back at Queen of All Saints for my third year. I am also thrilled to announce that I will be at QAS three full days this year. I will be providing services on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. I hope everyone’s summer was relaxing but full of adventure and memories. I am excited to begin meeting with students and hearing about all the exciting things that they did. I would like to take a quick moment to reintroduce myself for this school year and to provide an overview of the services available for the ’17-’18 school year.
My name is Meghan Diven and I am a therapist with the School Partnership Program of Catholic Family Services. I earned my Masters in Social Work with a concentration in family from Saint Louis University in 2012. I have since worked as both a therapeutic daycare teacher and a child therapist. I am excited to announce I have completed my requirements and have become fully licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Missouri. I incorporate a variety of therapeutic interventions such as play therapy, CBT, and aspects of art and sand tray therapy. With my free time, I enjoy spending time and making memories with my son and the rest of my family. I also enjoy crafting, reading, and playing with my dog.
Throughout the school year, I will be working as a support for the students, teachers, and parents of QAS. I will be working with students individually, in small groups and as classes and grades as a whole. Presentations will be provided to individual classes as well as entire grade levels to promote character education. Individually, I will meet with students on a one on one basis as needed. Additionally, I will be working to provide small groups to allow students to work together on skill building. I will be collaborating and working together with the parents, teachers, staff and administration of QAS in order to provide the best services for the students and to help create an amazing school year.
Any student is eligible to meet with me. Students may request to meet with me themselves or they can be referred by a teacher, administrator, or parent. For small groups, letters will be sent home explaining the topic of the group and inviting students to join. Prior to meeting with a student individually, I will need written consent from the parents or guardian. In addition, before a child can participate in a small group, I will also need written consent for group participation from the parents or guardian. Consent forms will be sent home via school messenger and/or hard copy but can also be found on the QAS School webpage under the Counselor’s Corner.
I encourage you to reach out if you have concerns regarding your child(ren) or if you would like for me to meet with your child(ren). I can be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I am happy to speak with you about your child’s needs and/or progress or regarding any questions or concerns. Please feel free to contact me at anytime.
I am looking forward to a spectacular school year!
Meghan Diven, MSW, LCSW
